D Evil 4

Edgar Alan Poe escreveu um conto sobre um gato preto que, de certa forma, reforçava o preconceito contra o bichinho - mesmo que uma leitura mais aprofundada mostrasse que esse preconceito era injustificado. Senti o mesmo clima gótico na primeira história da graphic novel Criaturas da noite de Neil Gaiman, desenhada por Michael Zulli.

O demônho faz uma participação especial ni "O Preço", por isso a inclusão na série D Evil.

Na segunda ["A Filha das Corujas"], uma bebê é encontrada em um vilarejo. Com medo dela, o conselho decide-se por abandoná-la em um convento, atrás de altos muros, onde se espera que ela morra por falta de cuidados da única freira remanescente, uma muher virtuosa. Ainda se sente um certo Poe no ar, talvez porque em ambas o narrador é um escritor.

No bêdê de tio Nuno tem algumas páginas da versão original, em inglês. A versão brasileira da Ediouro traz prefácio de Mário Bortolotto e citações exclusivas.
